At our dental clinic, we have always prided ourselves on providing excellent services, we can now expand that to include same-day crowns. This means you can walk in and out with a brand-new crown in just one day. Our cutting-edge technology allows us to create custom crowns on-site, saving you time and ensuring a perfect fit. Say goodbye to multiple visits and temporary crowns, and we make sure your smile is restored with our same-day service.

CEREC machines use 3D-imaging software to make a detailed replication of your teeth. The process begins with your dentist taking X-rays and photographs of your mouth with the CEREC machine, which uses the information received to create a 3D model of your mouth.

Once the 3D model and the areas that need to be restored have been highlighted, the machine will create the restorative piece from a ceramic block.

The CEREC machine usually completes the process within 30 minutes. While you wait, your dentist will prep you for the restoration placement. When the CEREC machine finishes creating the required part, your dentist will complete the restoration, and when they are done, they will provide you with tips on how to take care of the restoration.

Crowns are synthetic caps, usually made of a material like porcelain, bonded on to your tooth to reconstruct or reinforce it.

Crowns are typically used to restore a tooth’s function and appearance following a restorative procedure such as a root canal. When decay in a tooth has become so advanced that large portions of the tooth must be removed, crowns are often used to restore the tooth.  Crowns are also used to attach bridges, cover implants, prevent a cracked tooth from becoming worse, or an existing filling is in jeopardy of becoming loose or dislocated. Crowns also serve an aesthetic use, and are applied when a discolored or stained tooth needs to be restored to its natural appearance.

Procedures
A tooth may need to be prepared to accommodate a crown. A model is taken of the existing tooth with a silicone impression or more accurate digital impression captured.  A custom-designed crown is manufactured either in a porcelain oven or milled from a high strength solid ceramic block. In some cases, a temporary crown is applied until the permanent crown is ready. Permanent crowns are cemented in place.

Crowns are sometimes confused with veneers, but they are quite different. Veneers are typically applied only to relatively small areas.

Caring For Your Crowns
With proper care, a good quality crown could last up to eight years or longer. It is very important to floss in the area of the crown to avoid excess plaque or collection of debris around the restoration.

Certain behaviors such as jaw clenching or bruxism (teeth grinding) significantly shorten the life of a crown. Moreover, eating brittle foods, ice or hard candy can compromise the adhesion of the crown, or even damage the crown.
